Public Reception for Dan Mann on Jan. 28

Jan. 18, 2010 – A public reception for Dan Mann, A.A.E., the outgoing director of The Eastern Iowa Airport, will be held Jan. 28, from 3 – 5 p.m. The reception will take place in the Board Room at the Airport Administration building, 2515 Arthur Collins Pkwy SW.
Mann announced in December he would be leaving the Cedar Rapids area after accepting a position as the executive director of the Columbia Metropolitan Airport in Columbia, SC.
Mann has been the director at The Eastern Iowa Airport since July 2005. As a long-time leader in aviation organizations, Mann serves on the Board of the Iowa Public Airports Association, is the state representative for the Great Lakes Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), and is past President of both the Northwest Chapter of AAAE and the Wyoming Airport Operators Association. He has more than 20 years of experience in the management of airport operations, finance, marketing, and public relations at both commercial service and military airports.
Prior to coming to Cedar Rapids, he spent almost eight years as the manager of the Natrona County International Airport in Casper, WY. In addition to work in Wyoming, Mann’s prior positions were Assistant Airport Manager at the Elmira Corning Regional Airport in Elmira, New York from 1993 to 1995 and the Operations Specialist at the Dubuque Regional Airport in Dubuque, Iowa.
From 1987 to 1992, Mann served in the United States Air Force, where he held the rank of Captain and was a B-52 navigator. He also served in the Ohio Air National Guard from 1983 to 1987. A native of Bryan, Ohio, Mann graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He is also an Accredited Airport Executive through the American Association of Airport Executives and is a licensed private pilot.
